Donna, I noticed you said the trail of tears was also in Illinois and this makes me wonder just how wide or how many trails there were as my hometown of Lebanon, Tennessee which is 28 miles east of Nashville has historical markers indicating that the Trail of Tears ran through here. Hi Logan, Yes, the trail went thru southern Illinois. It appears on this map as the northern route. Note where it says Illinois .... it appears this is the same route that came from the Nashville area. It seems to say that this route started at Charleston, which is a circled number 11. This appears close to or near or in NC.
