    3. Did anyone see this? I just looked up a Cherokee.org And it does show SW Virgina as Cherokee territory. 3. But no Cherokee *lived* there...the early Cherokee towns were in that NW corner of SC...it was called the South Carolina Back Country in the late 1700s.... Ah, you've hit the Anti-Cherokee Nation faction group on that history link....:) They're just libel to tell you anything....:) They also say that any Cherokee who doesn't live in the 14 counties of NE Oklahoma is a *traitor* and should not be a member of the Cherokee Nation...sure you want to go there? This theory of theirs is based on an unratified treaty... Good luck with your research though...what I've found is most folks just can't find the documentation to support their *Indian Ancestry* if they can't trace back to one of the rolls...but hey, hope springs eternal....:) Char On Wed, Apr 2, 2008 at 8:33 AM, Donna Fischer <donna_fischer2003@yahoo.com> wrote: > > Did anyone see this? > > I just looked up a Cherokee.org And it does show SW > Virgina as Cherokee territory.
