Now you folks have gotten me curious for I was married to Marie Givan of Watertown, Tennessee who was married to Cheatham Russell who died in a traffic accident. Cheatham had folks who were Latter Day Saints and they allegedly had traced both his and Marie's ancestry. She lost the paperwork, but prior to her own death, had told me she was descended from the brother of the Apache Geronimo. I have never been able to determine what this brother's name was. At the time of our discussion she was ashamed of the fact because her particular lineage allegedly started when Geronimo's brother raped a white woman. I told her she had nothing to be ashamed of for the Apaches were a proud bunch and in Geronimo's own biography he stated that Apache youth started running at age five and by the time they had reached manhood they could cover a hundred miles per day on foot! Geronimo was never a chief though and if anyone knows for sure what his brother's name is then I would relish your reply.
