Dear Richard: Thanks for posting the Martin/Holman info. I have not found any Holman connections in my Wilson Co. Martin line yet, but that possibility exists. My oldest known Martin was James, born c. 1803 in North Caroline. He married Mary Eason in 1825 and they had son Joseph B., born Dec. 18, 1825. Mary died, perhaps in childbirth, and James Martin married Harriet Hegerty Nov. 10, 1830. They had children: Lafayette, Mary (married a Lockett?), Lucy E. (married a Robinson?), James, John, Harriet G. , and Adaline (married a Whitescarver?) . I think that there is a good possibility that my James Martin, b. 1803, had a brother, Robert B., who married Cyntha Hegerty in 1835. (Sister of Harriet?) Unfortunately, I don't have any information about the children from my James' second marriage to Harriet. I am descended from the only son of his first marriage, Joseph Burton. It is possible that the James Martin you refer to who died in 1879 could be the son of James Martin and Harriet Hegerty. The area that you think the property was in, N. Wilson County, is the area that my Martins were in. Several of them lived near Martha, TN. Could you share with me any other details you might have about your Martins? Maybe we can still make a connection. Thanks, Cheryl
