Smith, M.D., b. 1795, d. May 18, 1870 in Fayette Co., Texas. Found a William P. Smith in the Wilson Co. 1830 census on page 93. I believe his wife's name was Sarah, and one child's name was Louisa Mae, another may be Robert. Rev. Smith was ordained a Methodist minister in Franklin, Williamson Co., Tn. in 1829. Daughter, Louisa Mae, was b. 1822 in Tn., d. 1865 in Limestone Co., Tx. I have been told there was an early college in Wilson Co. that many men attended. Rev. Smith was a well versed man with writings printed in early Fayette Co., Tx. history papers, and may have attended that college. Rev. William P. Smith, M.D. arrived in Texas in 1835 and was Surgeon General under Sam Houston in the Texas Army, appointed Jan. 1840. I would also like to know the name of the early college in Wilson Co, Tn.
