Hi Dennis, Can you please give your evidence that Robert JENNINGS is connected to Robert JENNINGS of New Kent Co., VA? Connected in what way? Robert JENNINGS was in Rowan Co., NC at least by 1772 when he was in a tax list there. About 1799 he moved to Madison Co., KY where he lived until his death. The will of Robert GINNINGS (not dated) was proved on 4 Aug. 1828. He left one third of his estate, both personal and real, to his wife (not named) during her natural life or widowhood which was to return to his children at her death. To son Williams GINNINGS, Jacob GINNINGS, John GINNINGS, Isaiah GINNINGS and Sally HEATHMAN he left an equal part of all his estate, except $200 to his son Jesse GINNINGS children and $200 to son Thomas GINNINGS children whenever they apply to his executors after his wifes death, namely John GINNINGS, Isaiah GINNINGS, and Jonathan HEATHMAN who he appoints to attend and make sale agreeable to the provisions of the will. Wit.: Samuel WINBOURNE, Robert GINNINGS, Junr., James DIJARNETT. On 8 Aug. 1828 there was an agreement between Catherine JENNINGS with John JENNINGS, Isaiah JENNINGS, and Jonathan HATHMAN, executors of the will or Robert JENNINGS, where they bought her 1/3 part of the estate. The ONLY "evidence" of which I know that Catherine was a SALLEE is in "Documented Notes on Jennings and Allied Families" by Beatrice Doughtie, 711, where she states (emphasis mine) , "IT IS SAID Robert Jennings, Sr. m. Catherine Sallee." It seems there has been a lot of acceptance since her book of that statement as fact. There is SUPPOSED to be a document where on 9 July 1814 Isaiah JENNINGS, Jonathan HEATHMAN and Sally HEATHMAN his wife appointed Stephen SMITH of Pulaski Co., KY to apply for and receive both real and personal estate of John DANCY of Rowan Co., KY which they as legatees had claim to. (Does anyone have the citation for the location of this record?) That raises numerous possibilities and questions: 1. How are Isaiah and Sally legatees? The most likely way would seem by being grandchildren of John DANCY, and their mother was deceased. [John DANCY was a neighbor of Robert JENNINGS in Rowan Co., NC] 2. If Robert named his children in order in his will, then Isaiah and Sally were his youngest children. If their mother was deceased in 1814, then Robert's wife Catherine at his death would not be the mother of ANY of Robert's children. 3. Are only Isaiah and Sally children of a DANCY? 4. If so, who was Robert's first wife? Catherine SALLEE???? Or is this Robert's third wife???? Rick Saunders
