It is a long shot, but do you know anything about the James Monroe Davis you have listed as a son of Lewis Davis? I have a James M. Davis who married in Wilson County, Tennessee in 1840 to Sarah Wier, daughter of James and Cary J. (Shaw) Wier. James M. Davis is my dead end line. Davis is such a common name, I hesitate to be terribly optimistic unless I know more about James Monroe Davis. Did he live in Rutherford County, Tennessee where his father died in 1834?
