The Cumberland Presbyterian Church was founded in 1810 in Dickson, County, TN. It broke off from the Presbyterian Church as an outgrowth of The Great Revival of 1800. The Historical Foundation for the Cumberland Presbyterian Church is located in Memphis, TN Their web site is www.cumberland.org/hfcpc There was a book published by the Church in 1899 titled, "History of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church", by B. W. McDonnold, D.D., LL.D This book contains sketches of many of the early ministers of the Church as well as descriptions of some of the first locations and congregations. The Sumner County Archives in Gallatin, TN has a copy and there is probably a copy at TSLA in Nashville. In the later 1800s the Theological College of the Church was located in Princeton, KY
