I found the inventory of his personal effects and the results of an auction of his goods. The results, found on microfilm, were reported under the title "February Term 1858" and begin with the words "An inventory & account of sales made of the personal property of the estate of John W. King decd., at his residence in Wilson County,- after having advertised according to law this 24th day of November 1857. as follows - Mary King, widow, 1 bed & furniture 1.00 & 1 chest .50 & 1 bureau 3.00 = $4.50..." I am in the process of transcribing this document. Anyone interested in receiving a copy is welcome.
