    3. Thomas E. Partlow's WILSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE, CHANCERY COURT RECORDS 1842-1892, has the following entries for William Dawson, which may be of some interest to you. These are not my people; just did a lookup for you. 1. Bill of complaint of Hellen S. Towson of Sumner County against M. T. Bennett, administrator of W. N. Dawson, Martha J. Dawson, Mary F. Dawson, Abigail Dawson, America Dawson, Thomas F. Dawson, Emily J. Dawson, and Wiley L. Dawson, minors. William Towson departed this life in 18___, leaving a widow, the said Hellen S. Towson, and children Lizzie and John. The said William N. Dawson has died intestate, leaving his widow, Martha J., and the other defendants as children. On 2 November 1858, said Towson sold sd. Dawson a hotel in the town of Lebanon. 30 June 1866 (Chancery Book H, Pp. 303-317) 2. William Dawson and wife versus John J. Hartsfield. Solomon Hartsfield made a deed of conveyance of real and personal property to his son, John J. Hartsfield on 26 May 1849. A joint right of property was reserved to the bargainer and his wife with his son John J. Hartsfield. Solomon Hartsfield was upwards of 70 years of age at the time of making the deed. He is not advanced in his eighties and is blind and prost(r)ate with the infirmities of old age and mental imbecility. His wife Rebecca departed this life in the Fall of 1859 at a very advanced age. At the time of making the conveyance, the said Solomon was too weak and imbecile of mind to understand what he was doing. At the time of making the conveyance, he had the following children and grandchildren viz. Martha Jane Dawson, John J. Hartsfield, Abagail Tucker and two grandchildren mentioned in the deed. George Tucker and wife were living in Jackson, Tennessee and now reside in Texas. The two grandchildren reside in this county. One is now married C. R. Dillard and the other resides with her father Burr Harris. 11 April 1860 (Chancery Court 1865-1867, Pp. 319-326) [I gather that Martha Jane's maiden name was Hartsfield.] Hope these are helpful.
