    3. This is to let everyone know I found the Goose Creek Ranch. It is on Sherrillton Road. Now I have another dilemma. My ancester Joseph Berry was arrested and charged with house breaking, carrying arms and intent to murder in 1876. Also arrested was Alf Clark at the same time. Joseph was cleared of all charges, but I am puzzled why this mild mannered man would have done such an act and who was Alf Clark. Joseph had two daughters die about this time and I don't know from what. I am wondering if these charges had something to do with the death of his daughters, who were teens at the time. Does anyone have a clue. All that is in the court records are the charges and dismissals. Who is Alf Clark? Susan Lane

    3. Thomas E. Partlow's WILSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE, CHANCERY COURT RECORDS 1842-1892, has the following entry about Alfred Clark: Marian Clark, a woman of color, versus Alfred Clark, a man of color. Said parties intermarried many years ago. They lived together until four years ago when the defendant left. He promised to send for her and the family, but has not been heard from since. There are five children, two of them are grown. There are three minors, to wit, Fayett, Laura, and Hattie, ages respectively 12, 8, and 7. Said Marian Clark is seeking a divorce. 23 February 1877 (Chancery Book 1876-1892, Pp. 225-226) These records are now at the Nashville Archives and are being microfilmed. They may now be available for copies.
