Partlow's WILSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE, CHANCERY COURT RECORDS 1842-1892, has the following entry which may be of help. Note that the widow's name is Mary, not Jane, so this may not be the Clemmons family you are seeking. If you think they are the correct family, there are a couple of other entries which are interesting. Let me know by private email. twalker@iland.net Bill of complaint of William L. Clemmons, executor of John Clemmons against John F. Clemmons of Madison County, Christiana Sanders and husband A. H. of Rutherford County, the only children of Allen Clemmons, a son of said testator; Jennett C. Lester and husband James Lester and Kate and Robert R. Clemmons, minors of Wilson County, said Jennett C. Lester is the only living child and said Kate and Robert R., the only living grandchildren, being brothers and sisters of Alfred Clemmons who was a son of said testator; Joseph E. Clemmons, Rufus P. Clemmons, Robert A. Clemmons, and William E. Clemmons and minor child, being the only living children and grandchild of Edwin Clemmons who was a son of testator; William T. Clemmons, John Clemmons, Louisa Sullivan and husband W. P., and Winsey Russell and husband J. J. of Wilson County, the only living children of Samuel Clemmons a son of testator; Richard Jones as guardian of his minor daughter Frances, the only grandchild of Winsey Clemmons, a daughter of testator; and Benjamin Hooker, a surviving husband of Martha Hooker, a daughter of said testator and non resident. John Clemmons died many years ago, leaving a widow Mary Clemmons. His property was to go to her during her lifetime and then to his heirs. 19 October 1867 (Chancery Book K, Pp. 215-221) [These books are in the hands of a private citizen and are not available for copying nor are they on microfilm. Mr. Partlow's abstracts are the only available information. However, there would be a will and deeds involving the transfer of the land.]
