Thomas E. Partlow's WILSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE, CHANCERY COURT RECORDS 1842-1892, has the following entry for a Richard B. Ramsey: Petition of John T. New, Thomas New, (Steth) New, Rebecca Falkner, Alex Evans and wife Mary Ann; the heirs of Harriet Ramsey, formerly Harriet New, by their father Richard B. Ramsey; the heirs of James New; and the heirs of William O. New by their guardian John T. New. William New died on 29 May 1835, leaving a widow, Sarah, who has since married James Dickinson, and the above named heirs. Ex Parte. 6 September 1849 (Chancery Book D, Pp. 561-565) This may be a different Richard B. Ramsey, or an earlier or later marriage. Also wanted to tell you that the name Dickerson was often mistaken for Hickerson, which in Wilson Co., is usually Higgason. Sometimes these names get really distorted. The Ramseys are not my people. Just did a lookup for you. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, May 19, 2006 8:04 AM Subject: wilson county marriages > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Ramsey, Dickerson, McKinney, Hunter, Smithwick, New > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/UiB.2ACI/1370 > > Message Board Post: > > I am interested in finding out if there is any information on marriages in > Wilson county in the library or the court house in Lebanon or elsewhere.
