This is my occasional post about a certain Smith I'm still searching for. Burt/Bert (full name thought to be Bertrand Trammel SMITH, marriage license says Bertrand SMITH) b. 4/28/1835 in Lebanon, Wilson County, TN. (possibly in a community/area called Indian Ladder?) Married, 3/6/1866 in Lebanon, Wilson County, TN. to : Sarah Elizabeth 'Betty' FAKES, b. 2/24/1844 in K. The family says she went by the last name BROWN before her marriage as her mother had remarried a Mr William Coleman BROWN. Betty's parents were Albert L FAKES and Sarah B JOHNSON FAKES (later BROWN). Bert and Betty had the following children, all born around Lebanon, TN: Nancy Lou Ella, b.12/1866, never married, lived with her sister Laura during her adult years. James Thomas 'Jim', b. 5/1868 Sarah F. 'Sallie', b. 6/1870 William B 'Billy', b. 6/1872 ( he had a daughter named Lillie May) Laura Elizabeth, b. 6/1875, married Roscoe HANKINS Alexon Monroe 'Lex', b. 11/1879, married Faye Allen DUNN from Caldwell County, KY I seem to get nowhere in my search for Burt/Bert's parents and siblings.
