My families from Wilson County are John EDWARDS, Theophilus BASS, James O'NEAL, Grief HAWKINS (sometimes misspelled as HANKINS), RISTON, MANNING, HENRY, MIDGET, WILL(S), DUKE(S) I have seen the EDWARDS and BASS families closely associated with the WILL(S) and DUKE(S) in both Franklin County, NC where they lived before 1800 as well as in Muhlenberg County, KY where they lived 1830+ before some of them came into Williamson County and White County Illinois 1850 and later. These counties are very close to Wabash County. Cheap land, I believe, was the attraction. Of my group the MIDGET and O'NEAL relations were the first to enter Illinois as far as I can determine.
