Before Grief married Dorcas, he had married Faitha Coleman in 1805, Amelia County, VA and had the following children: Frances "Fanny" who married William Hastings 1829 Wilson County, TN Dandridge Thomas Alfred Armstead Second, he married Martha Turner, 1820, Amelia County, VA and had: Martha Hawkins who married Henry Talley, 1848, Wilson County, TN Third, he married the widow Dorcas Midgette/Midget O'Neal, 1833, Wilson County, TN.
