John and Nancy Lee Harris Irby were my ggg grandparents. John Irby was born 1791 in Newberry Co., SC. His father was Henry Irby b. apprx. 1770 in VA. Henry was the son of Joseph Irby b. 1728 VA who was killed during the Massacre at Hayes Station in SC (Rev. War). In researching Irby's I've seen some Harris family members who have lived near the places where my Irby family lived. I have had no luck in finding Nancy Lee Harris's parents and ancestors though. All I do know of her is that she was born 1796-1802 in North Carolina. There was an Arthur Harris of NC who sold land in NC which was witnessed by John Irby's cousin. Does anyone know of this Arthur Harris? He moved to Wilson County around 1800. John and Nancy Harris Irby moved to southern Illinois in latter 1830s. Any information of this Arthur or my Nancy will be appreciated. Many thanks! Linda

In Thomas E. Partlow's book of Wilson County, TN, Wills, Books 1 - 13, 1802 - 1850 . Page 15 POLLY HARRIS will. 1813. Heirs, brother Gideon, Gideon's daughter Elizabeth, Polly T. Arnold, daughter of David Arnold of Virginia and Nancy Harris. Witnesses: David Webb, Andrew McDaniel, and John Harris. Gideon Harris, executor. Recorded 2 September 1814. (P.411) Linda, I've had this book and other Wilson Co. Books for more than 20 years but never got the time to search this lead. I've been busy on other lines but would like to start of this. Maybe together we can search this out. It looks like our Nancy. I guess we need the Will and Deeds starting in 1790's and after Polly's death. Good luck. Let me know.
