    1. [TNWILSON] HORACE EDWARD TURNER, son of MATTHEW TURNER: any descendants around? (brother to my ggrandfather)
    2. Nancy and Joe Brown
    3. Hi, I have seen on the Wilson Co. Genwebsite that Horace had the Thomas Turner bible, his grandfather, and shared the family record page. My great grandfather's name is there but all his info is not complete, and I would like to have it posted or added somewhere on the website. Perhaps one of the Major family members may know the whereabouts of this BIBLE? Thanks, Nancy Turner Brown PLEASE SEND TO: calvarynan@yahoo.com (this email is about to change soon)

    3. Thank you for sharing the information. A researcher submitted data to familysearch.org with a list of 8-10 children for Frederick, including Solomon, Marshall, Henry, William, John, Cintha, and others. I am trying to correspond with the person who submitted this information in order to find out her source. (Personally, I think it is not proven that Solomon is not a child of Frederick.) We are following up on DNA evidence showing a relationship between Solomon and various other Carters in Tennessee in the early 1800s. Solomon moved to Logan Co. KY later in life. I did get a copy of the deed transfer for the 500 acres from John Blount to Frederick Carter. -----Original Message----- From: tnwilson-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:tnwilson-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of sgrandstaff8432@charter.net Sent: Wednesday, January 09, 2008 7:39 PM To: tnwilson@rootsweb.com Cc: tnwilson-request@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TNWILSON] TNWILSON Digest, Vol 3, Issue 16 Solomon was not a child of Fredrick. I am descended from him and as far as my research goes he was not a sib. The sibs were Marshall, William, John J, Cintha, and Elenor. Fredrick married Nancy Jenkins in Culpepper, VA. They are buried on Shop Springs road in a family cemetery. There is a Henry Carter who is older buried there next to Fredrick. I think this could have poss been his father but have been unable to find any proof of that. Bernard is also buried there but in a different area. Some of his family has done research and have not found a link between the two. Bernard is a relative of Robert E. Lee. Some of the Carters came from a plantation in VA (I think that is the state, don't have my notes in front of me) but no record of my Fredrick has been found in their list of relatives. He is believed to poss be a cousin. I think maybe Bernard could have been a cousin too. Fredrick bought 500 acres of land in Wilson Co. then sold 1/3 to Bernard Carter, 1/3 to A! sa Andrews and kept the other 1/3 for himself. In the past I think I did a little research on Nathaniel but never could find any connection to him. I really think he was prob a different set of Carters. 1. [TNWILSON] (Alexander, Frederick, Randal, Harison, Nathaniel, Solomon) CARTER 1820 Wilson Co.
    2. Julie
    3. Hello, I am researching various Carters in Wilson & Rutherford counties starting in about 1800. My husband is descended from Solomon Carter, born 1813 in Wilson Co., whose father may or may not have been a Frederick Carter, born 1769 in VA. (The data about Frederick Carter's children that I found is from familysearch.org. I am trying to find out its origins.) I found parts of the 1820 census at Ancestry.com yesterday and noted what appears to be a Randal Carter living near Frederick and Bernard Carter in Lebanon/Wilson Co. I wasn't familiar with this Randal, and wondered if anybody else has researched him. Also, on the same page with a Nathaniel Carter in the same 1820 census, I found what looked to me like Harison Carter, though the "t" did not look crossed. It had been transcribed as "Hanson Carles." I was curious about Harison Carter because I think there was a man by that name living near Alexander and Solomon Carter in the 1830 Rutherford Co. census. So I guess my short question is: Anybody know much about Randal or Harison Carter? 1. [TNWILSON] Marriage Proof
    2. pj
    3. Thank you so much for the proof 1850 and 1860 they can be found in Gibson County, Tennessee. William died in March 1870 so he is not on that census but his last wife (there could have been another) Algeritta "Ann" J. Watts is in 1870 with her 1 year old child and 10 year old Doceler, child by Nancy Owens........ The other possible wife is Ann Noell/Noel .........there is a marriage in Gibson Co for W. Mathis to Ann Noel in 1861 ..........this has to be proven if it really is our William.........I believe it is because of another child named Thomas Mathis that was listed as half brother on the 1880 census of Weakley County, Tn in the household of of Samuel J. Mathis, son of William M and Nancy Owens Thanks again...........pj ----- Original Message ----- From: "Terrilyn Litvan" <TPLitvan@acegroup.cc> To: <tnwilson@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2008 5:00 PM Subject: Re: [TNWILSON] Need Proof of Marriage Record > pj wrote: > >>I am seeking proof of a marriage record for the following >> >>William M. 3. Thank you so much :) There is a track of twins in the Harpoles. It goes wayyyyyy back to the first Harpoles (or Harpoldtzs) from Germany and Holland. We have a Racheal and a Rebecca in our family also. AND....my grandmother was a Riley! They were from Bruton, Alabama. (I may have misspelled that.) Our own twins are Evie and Jackson, born last November. Please pardon me from posting to the list. I'm going back to private email now :) You all are wonderful! 3. Hi Kathleen, Oh yes, when I was putting together the TNGenWeb Project Rutherford County site I found Fred and Williams. Fred was the Dad to James, George and Blake. (also others) He was an attorney, etc. in Murfreesboro. My Williams was an alderman and a few other things. I really do thank you all for the help. I'm going to stay on track and only use Wilson County ancestry... I don't want to open up a can of worms <g>. Thanks so very much for everyones' help. You can't imagine how much it does keep me going. Bless your hearts :) Mari At 09:28 AM 1/8/2008, you wrote: >Re the BARFIELDS of Rutherford Co.
