Waters you seek shows up in both the 1860 and 1870 censuses. In 1860 with 7 children and in 1870 with 8 but minus Sarah. Both are in District 16; in 1860 that shows Cherry Valley PO; in 1870 it is Watertown. These census records are easily available through Heritage Quest. Check with your local library. Most of Wilson County came from Sumner County. Boundaries were shuffled frequently from 1799 until 1805 or so and at least one change as late as 1837. Myron E. I'm not the person who offered to do Wilson Co. lookups but I did some lookups for you in some Wilson Co. TN genealogy books I have. FYI - Wilson Co. TN was not formed until 1802. FYI - The Rev Abner Hill was my 4th great grandfather and he was a Baptist minister who lived on Barton Creek. Your Alexander and Elizabeth were probably members of his church. What were the names of Thomas Thorn's sons???????????? Did some lookups in some Wilson and Rutherford Co. TN genealogy books I have. Some tidbits of info you may find helpful in some way. Very interested in your message. Are you referring to the Rev. Abner Hill, Baptist minister????? Rev. Abner Hill was my 4th great grandfather. It is not proven, but he was probably the Abner Hill who married Charlotte Adkinson in Johnson Co. NC Nov 2, 1792 Rev Abner Hill is shown on the 1820 census of Wilson Co with 7 sons and 4 daughters. There are several Deed records for him buying and selling land on Barton's Creek He 1st appears in the records of Wilson Co. TN in 1813 - Deed books and performing marriages. I do not know anything about Allen Hill. Do you know who performed his marriage???? What was his birth year and where did he say he was born????? Did he live until the 1880 census? If so, what did he say about his parents birthplace? Do you know who Sarah's parents were? The only children of Rev Abner Hill that I know of for sure are: 1. Lewis Eden Hill who married 1st Zuritha Rieff Sept 22, 1829 (with Rev Abner Hill as bondsman), and married 2nd Isabella Whitson in 1834. He moved to Sumner Co. TN 2. Abner P. Hill who married Amanda Rieff in 1835 and moved to Hamilton County, IL There is reason to believe that Polly Hill who married William Lasiter/Lasater Dec 22, 1828 in Wilson Co. (with Rev Abner Hill as bondsman) was a daughter of his. There is also reason to believe that Isaac Hill who married Polly Johnson January 11, 1828 (with Rev Abner Hill performing the ceremony) was a son of his.
