Could anyone out there help me find any information on the death of a George Officer. George was born in 1840 in Virginia and died in 1936 in Wilson County Tennessee. I requested his death certificate from the Dept.Vital Statistics but they found nothing. I am in close contact with his last remaining grandaughter who was at the funeral in 1936 in Bellwood. I found my g-g-grandfather, Charles L. Robertson (~1840 VA) in the 1860 Wilson Co Census with his family (below). I also found a record indicating he remarried 9/23/1880 to Bettie Wright in Wilson County. (His first wife was Sarah A. Byers (May 7,1850 to Nov 30,1867 - both in Henderson Crossroad / Norene, Wilson Co, TN)) She was the daughter of Lucretia Prichard (Dec 16, 1832 TN to ????) and Moses A. Byers (Methodist Minister) (Aug 8, 1824 TN to May 12, 1898 Wilson Co TN). Charles L. Robertson (~1840) was the son of A. B. (Anthony) Robertson (~1814 VA) and wife Martha (~1816 VA). The children from the 1860 census in Wilson Co TN: Alexander (~1839 VA) - Had wife named Nancy (~1841 TN) in 1870 census Charles (~1841 VA), Mary (~1842 VA), Rhoda (~1846 TN), Albert & Sally (Sarah) (twins) (~1848 TN), Nancy (~1852 TN) Henry (~1854 TN). The family above is next door to the family below except that Lewis has died by 1860. In the 1850 census, this family is next door (likely Anthony B Robertson's father, but not yet proven - Martha is too young to be his mother). Lewis Robertson (~1792 VA), Martha (~1806 VA), William(~1826 VA), Calieb (~1831 VA) John (~1834 VA) Samuel (~1836 VA), Mary (~1837 VA), Nathan (~1842 VA), Jane (~1843 VA), Nancy (~1846 TN) Christopher (~1848 TN) It appears from the children's birth states that both families moved to TN from VA about 1844 -45. Dillard is the widow. Injunction. 27 November 1871 (Chancery Book H, Pp. 542-547) [This indicates that Allen had a will which you would be able to send for.] 3. Bill of complaint of S. A. Dillard, widow of Allen Dillard, against Mattie J. Green and husband Walter of Obion County; James Dillard of Sumner County; Mary E. She moved to Illinois with her husband, William B. Dillard, and there died, leaving her husband as her heir. Said Dillard was a good man, but no manager. James C. Terry, Richard Corley and Christopher C. Corley were securities for Robert Corley to a certain bond. It has not been paid. His parents were Willis Dillard and Sarah Brownlow. They moved to Wilson Co. sometime after the 1800 census. They do not appear in the NC census for 1810. They are in Wilson Co., for the 1820 census, but by 1830 are in Hardeman Co., TN. Most of this family moved on to Pontotoc Co., MS. Although I have never found any deed or will that transfers Willis's property in Wilson Co., John and some of his family seem to live on the same land throughout most of the 1800's. John Dillard m. Sally Jacobs (daughter of Neddy Jacobs) 18 July 1820 (Wilson Co. Marriages). In the 1830 census, there is a John Dillard in Wilson Co. who has 2 male children 0-5, 2 male children 5-10, two male children 10-15, an adult male 20-30, an adult female 30-40. I found several Shaws in the 1820 and 1830 census of Wilson Co. but no Gabriel. May have gone by different name. Several Shaws in Smith Co. TN in 1820..a couple in the 1830 census.
