Hi, Where is Jones Hill and are there many Jones' buried there? Mimi
Are there any Whiteaker searchers on the list? Priscilla M Paul married Henry C Whiteaker 1 Feb 1922. They had 3 children, Pauline, JD and HC. HC was born 7 Mar 1923 and died 12 June 1948. That is all I have, but would like to find any descendents. Priscilla and HC are buried in Fairview Cem. Priscilla is the daughter of John Wilson "Wils" Paul and Richard A ? Thanks to all, Susan Lane
Does anyone have info on Cora Lee Grissom who married Thomas Ethel Berry in 1903? She is buried in Jones Hill Cemetery, 1963. Just curious about her parents. Thanks, Susan Lane
Does anyone have any info on WS Grandstaff and his wife Sarah Berry. I am looking for children they may have had and any other descendents. They married 22 December 1882 in Wilson County. Thanks, Susan Lane

Hi Erick.... I have just today recieved information that William Bradshaw was really Williamson Bradshaw..and he had a first marriage to a Susannah Harris, who was the mother of Mary Elizabeth Bradshaw...Here is the census and marriage information.. Betty Brown Wilson BRADSHAW age 50 born: Tn. Nancy age 43 born: Tn. Williamson age 22 Hartwell age 16 Dixson age 12 Elizabeth age 10 Thomas age 9 Eliza age 7 John age 3 Nancy age 2 Elvira MITCHELL age 72 Wilson 162-647 are you interested in 1860? A "W. L. BRADSHAW" is listed then, age 35 with a wife Sarah 27, children Mary E. 6, Ida 2, and a "D. L. BRADSHAW age 21 (male), and Lucinda FENNELL age 35. The Wilson BRADSHAW in the 1850 census is still there, but Williamson is no longer in the household. I did find marriage records in Wilson County: Williamson BRADSHAW to Susannah J. HARRIS 30 November 1852 Williamson L. BRADSHAW to Sarah J. SHEPARD 28 December 1856 It would appear that Mary E. was by his marriage to Susannah and Ida by his marriage to Sarah. Also two marriages for Wilson BRADSHAW: Wilson BRADSHAW to Polly SPICKARD 2 March 1824 Wilson BRADSHAW to Nancy D. On the Wilson County census for 1880, District 16, page 20 are some of my folks, the Berrys. Listed with them for the first time are 4 young men named Welch. Does anyone know of these people? Steve Welch 17 Perry Welch 11 Larky Welch 9 Alfred Welch 6 Perhaps my Joseph Berry had a sister who married a Welch and they both died leaving these orphans. This is just a guess. Help!!! Susan Lane

I have an ancester from Cherry Valley who served in the 5th Tenn Calvary, company B, during the Civil War. I am not where I can get to a book on this. Can someone tell me if this was a Confederate Troop or a Union troop. I had written down Federal but I am uncertain if that is true. I thought all the troops from there were Confederate. Thanks for any help. Susan Lane

Information I have on his father is that he was born and died near Lebanon County, Tennessee. My info says his name was Edward Nicholas, but it may have been shortened to Ned. >> I cannot believe my good fortune in your message to the Wilson County list! As my secretary says, I must have "talked you up!" I have been working on your very line quite extensively in the past month, and wanted to try to track down your part of the family. In fact I was planning to try to do some census work next week to see what I could find on my Texas Hunter cousins. And now, you materialize! Yes! Your William Wright Hunter who married Sophronia Smithwick first was actually born about 1849 or 1850, the eldest child of Edward N. Hunter (called "Ned") and his fist wife, Rachel J. Harvel. W. W. Hunter had one sibling, a sister named Mary Ann Hunter (sometimes called "Polly Ann," c1851-c1886) who married William Asberry Davis (1844-c1910), and they were my great-great grandparents. Edward N. Hunter was the son of Wright Hunter and Elizabeth Chambers who also lived in Wilson County, Tennessee northeast of Lebanon, but they were cousins and had come from Duplin County, North Carolina. Wright Hunter was a son of William Hunter of Duplin County, and Elizabeth Chambers was a daughter of Lewis and Ann (Hunter) Chambers who moved from Duplin to Wilson County in the early 1800s. Wright Hunter and Elizabeth Chambers apparently eloped, as their marriage is recorded in Madison County, Alabama (Huntsville) in 1821. He had been married previously. I am most interested in hearing from you and exchanging information. I can tell you much more. And guess what? My grandmother's brother's middle name was Wright, after William Wright Hunter. My father's middle name is Wright, after his uncle. And my son's middle name is Wright after his grandfather. So your ancestor still has namesakes living and breathing. I will look forward to hearing from you again. Erick Montgomery Augusta, Georgia

I have always had my own internet domain for that very reason. I also have a very strong warning on my webpages that I do not want to see any of my research, or the research of those who have contributed their data, posted on a FTM website, an Ancestry.com webpage or even Rootsweb WorldConnect. The minute your work gets into public domain, you have lost all control. Even with all my warnings, I still see my typographical errors posted all over the net. Naturally it is impossible to get them corrected. I work full time on my research and make corrections daily. You can not make corrections once it is burned to a CD-Rom. I have had people sign on to my website and tell me I have an "error" because my data conflicts with some FTM CD. People who do not understand how and where FTM gets their data assume the CDs are accurate. Nola nduffy@patch.net http://www.patch.net
