    1. [TNWILSON] WILSON / DAIDSON Co. / 1800-1845?
    2. I am looking for a John WILSON. Born possibly around 1800, in maybe the Nashville, TN area. His wife was found in 1850, in MS, (see below), but without him. I do not know what happened to him. I am posting this to several list, so if you get duplicates, I am sorry. I will appreciate any help on this matter. Thanks, Kay in FL. 1850 Mississippi census, District 7, Itawamba county Roll 373, Page 406: Anna M. WILSON, 48F NC, David WILSON, 21M TN, Elijah WILSON, 21M ILL, Burton WILSON, 16M TN, Mary WILSON, 25F TN, Prudy Jane WILSON, 14F TN, John W. WILSON, 27M Farmer TN, Laurinda WILSON, 23F ALA. SO... 1).Elijah was probably a relative, and 2). John was Anna's son. It was told that the Wilsons came from the Nashville TN. area, and that Prudy had three brothers, John, Burt and Dave. And since John W. is the next item on the census and Anna is not listed as owning property, assuming that they all lived together and that this is the right John? Thanks for looking.

    2. Helen
    3. I just talked with a librarian at the TN Archives, and MY APOLOGIES as my message was unnecessary. Fortunately for all Tennesseans and Tennessee descendants, the Tennessee Library and Archives has NO intention of publishing the marriage date online. It will be available at the archives. On the other side of the coin, perhaps the availability of personal information about living persons Internet should be discussed. Thanks for your patience, Helen

    3. The Tennessee Library and Archives is busily microfilimg marriage records for 1950 which they plan to have online during the month of April. See: http://www.state.tn.us/sos/statelib/pubsvs/whatsnew.htm Now, we all know that anyone can go to court houses and get these records, but it is another matter completely for them to be posted on Internet for anyone, including hose of "ne'erdowells" to see and use as they wish. AS A TAXPAYER IN THE DAVIDSON COUNTY, TN, I FEEL THAT THE STATE LIBARARY AND ARCHIVES CAN MAKE BETTER USE OF ITS MONIES; FURTHERMORE, IT IS ENTIRELY UNETHICAL!!! I URGE you to contact anyone you know in Tennessee and insist that they take immediate action to stop this foolishness. California and Texas came under severe criticism for the same thing. 2. Susan, I would also be interested in any information about the Grandstaffs. I have a William Grandstaff, born in 1832. He was the sone of Isaac Grandstaff, Jr. I have no other information on him. I am a descendant of William Bumpass Grandstaff who was Isaac, Jr.'s brother. Their father is the first family I can find in Wilson County, coming here in 1803 or so. He is usually referred to as Isaac "Grindstaff". Regards, Jackie
