Sumner Co. area list readers William A. CARR and his wife Mary are listed in District 11, HH 226 in the 1850 Macon Co., TN Census. Also listed are the Children Sarah, Robert, and James William b. Oct 12, 1841. No further Census entries can be found for this family until his Son James William is listed in the 1870 Macon Co. census District 11; 97-97 as James W. age 28. James W. served in B Co. 37th KY Minted Inf (Federal). According to his pension papers He married Margaret J. Herald (d.o. of James "Chucker" Herald)of Smith Co., TN on March 31, 1861 in Lafayette, TN by Haley Smith Esq. J.P. I am attempting to determine what happened to William A. CARR and the remainder of the family. They may have moved to an adjacent county or into South Central KY as there is an entry in James W. CARR's pay vouchers indicating a pay stoppage for transportation from Louisville, where he was recovering from wounds suffered on the Federal raid on the Kings Slat Works near Saltville in SW VA, to Horse Cave in Hart Co. KY James "Chucker" Herald is listed in the 1850 Census in Smith Co. as being north of the Cumberland and east of Caney(sp?) Fork Rivers. Jane HERALD (various spellings including HERRELL, etc.) was born about 1801 in NC. I am also trying to locate him prior to 1850. Any insight on these families would be appreciated. I have the CARR/KERR family bang to James King KERR in SW VA. Dennis

Hi Shirley, After reviewing your letter decided it would be better handled if I passed it along to John Connelly [Davidson County Historian & 1st president of Metro/Davidson 'Friends of the Archives'] and Pat Nolen [current president of the 'Friends of the 'Metro/Davidson County Archives'. They both know the people in government and are much more likely to receive replies. [John has 'his' office at Metro Archives and enjoys having buttons to push!] Sue
OOPS! I originally sent this letter to people that are connected to the family lines in this letter. I thought it was by private email. I was surprised to see it show up on the list but since it is here maybe it can help some one else. If anyone has any more information or has any questions please contact me. If anyone wants a copy of the picture of Robert Wilson Bilbro am happy to share. Just let me know. Does anyone no how to contact John T. Lannom. He was on this list and shared much of his Bilbro information with me. We are twice connected in Wilson Co. I tried to email him but it came back to me. I would apprciate any help with this. My fathers aunt Sophronia Martina Barnes married Robert Wilson Bilbro and her sister John Ella Barnes married first a Mathews and second a McFarland from Birmingham Alabama. I have no first names or dates. This information came from the obituary's of John Ella's father Solomon Lawson Barnes who died in 1924 and Brother Edward (Eddy) Samuel Barnes who died in 1949 and was married to Pearl S. Lannom. I was wondering if you have any information as to the identity of the McFarland that married John Ella Mathews Barnes. Another sister, Lenora Barnes married a THOMPSON in Wilson County She went by the name "Nora". That is all I have on her. I would appreciate any help you have to offer. I also wanted to tell you I went to a Barnes family reunion in Las Vegas this past week end and several people brought old photos to share. I came across one of Edward Earl Bilbro b. Sept. 21, 1911. He was the son of Robert Wilson Bilbro and Sophronia (Phronie) Barnes. If you are interested in a copy please let me know and I will be happy to send you one. Edward Earl (he went by Earl) was my dads cousin. I have his birthdate but that is all. If you have any further information on him I would appreciate that also. If I have any other information you want I am more than happy to share. Just let me know. Take care, Sandy Barnes PS. Have you ever come across a connection to the "POSEY" AND LOHMAN" names? Sandy, The McFarland, Bilbro and Thompson's fit into the Menees/Whitsett lineage. I think I may be able to help you and perhaps put you in contact with others of your line. In a message dated 6/6/01 5:03:32 PM Eastern Daylight Time, TNWILSON-D-request@rootsweb.com writes: << Can anyone tell me whether the LaGuardo cemetery still exists? I wondered if it was flooded when the lake was formed. If so, can anyone give me directions to it? >> No., the LaGuardo Cemetery is still there last time I went by a few months ago. I used to go there when I was a camp councilor at Boxwell Boy Scout Reservation which is very nearby. It was not flooded by Old Hickory Lake, and is in fact very high on a hill. It is right in LaGuardo, which is on Tennessee Hwy 109. There is a little road that must have been the old original street in LaGuardo that juts off to the west side of the highway. The cemetery in on that street. You cannot possibly miss it. It would be north of the LaGuardo boat ramp and recreation area, but within sight, I think, on the hill. Erick Montgomery
