    1. [TNWILSON] Re: Borum family
    2. Nancy, Do you have anything on a Ranson T. Borum (1842-1932) Ranson served in the Co. H. 38 Tenn Inf. C.S.A. He married Amanda Moore. They are buried at Good Hope Cemetery in Denton Co., Texas. One of the first ministers of the church at Good Hope was an R. R. or R. L. Borum and I am wondering if this is possibly Ranson's brother. I'm not sure, but believe that Ranson's mother might be Nancy Tucker. The Borum family plot is marked off and large enough for up to 10 graves, but only 3 are marked. Ranson, Amanda, and Amanda's nephew, William "Boss" Moore. The Rev. Borum is believed to also be buried at Good Hope Cemetery, so I am in belief that if the Rev. Borum is a member of this family, he is buried there also. Rev. Borum died in 1938. Ranson was 90 when he died, so I and inclined to believe that the Rev. Borum was possibly a brother. Thanks for your time. Vicki

William Turner McGregor (who once lived in Wilson Co., TN but can't find on TN Census records) was born 1799 in Tennessee. William McGregor was born Tennessee in 1815. William D. McGregor was born 1838 in Alabama. Can anyone researching this line help me determine how these McGregors are related? I have my hunches, but I have nothing to back them up with. Any help would be much appreciated. >> I can't answer that question specifically, but I have a Civil War era family letter stating "Cousin William McGregor is dead." I have supposed this to be a son of William McGregor who married Frances H. Graves in Wilson County in 1826. I THINK she was a daughter or John G. Graves (b. c 1777) and Polly Rutland. John George Graves was a brother of my ancestor, Benjamin Graves (b. c 1781) who married Sarah Martin in Caroline County, Virginia in 1804. Do you know anything about this William McGregor?

    1. [TNWILSON] 1880 Federal Census LDS Transcription
    2. Robin Niell
    3. I thought I'd forward this on to the list. Received it from another list that I subscribe to. Subject: 1880 Federal Census LDS Transcription Hi, I wanted to pass on an instance that I have noticed in the 1880 Federal Census Transcription by Family Search (LDS Church). Please pass this on to the lists you belong too. While perusing a township in Wisconsin, I noticed a pattern began to emerge. They had reversed the first and last names in the transcription. For example my ancestor was listed as: van hoosen EDWARD Nora EDWARD etc It should have been indexed as Edward VAN HOOSEN Nora VAN HOOSEN I just got lucky and found them as I knew they were in the township but the search function wasn't finding them. My point here is this: I think this problem may be widespread in the transcription. It would be a real good idea if you can't find someone you know should be there to reverse the names in the search and you might be surprised to find them. I found most of the Fountain, Juneau, WI transcription to have this problem.
