(It seems to be an AOL thing.) If she is on the list, please contact me again after fixing your e-mail so you can receive my response to you. Rick Saunders

    1. [TNWILSON] TALLY / HAWKINS FAMILY
    2. Hello! Is anyone on this list working on the TALLY family? Specifically, I am looking for Henry TALLY who married Martha HAWKINS (she born 1830s?), probably in Wilson County, TN. They were living in Illinois by 1853 - probably Williamson County. I have lots of information that could be tied together, if I just get a little more data on Martha. Thanks. Debbie

She married Grief B. in 1830s and they had one child, Faitha, or Fatha, who married Warren Murphy. Grief had been married once before. If this is your line, let me know. 1. [TNWILSON] Asaph HILL/d. 1845
    2. D.J. Peirce
    3. I'm searching for any information about a HILL family: Asaph HILL, b. before 1767, Fairfield Co SC, d. 21 Feb. 1845, Wilson Co TN, married abt 1798, prob. in SC, Elizabeth MARR, dau of James MARR. This family was in AL in 1830, or thereabouts, but must have moved to TN shortly after that. I don't believe this little family (of Asaph & Elizabeth & 5 children--all born betw. 1800-1820) moved from SC alone...as the practice then was to move in large groups, and especially in this family. Some members of the extended family left SC in the 1820s, I believe it's likely this family moved about the same time, and probably to the same area. There should be a record of probate of the estate of this man, but so far I've not found it. His wife left soon after his death and moved with several of her children to Texas. Any leads?? 2. DOYLE CHATHAM
    3. I continue my search for someone in Wilson County who may be a descendant of my grgrandfathert, Isaac Chatham. He was born in NC, probably in Caswell County in 1810. Hewas listed in the 1850 Wilson County censusalong with his children Benjamin, William, Mary, James and Nancy, and his second wife, Susan, daughter of neighbor Pleasant Johnson, to whom he was married in 1849. His first wife, and mother of his children, we believe to be a full-blooded Cherokee Indian. We do not know her name, or what happened. Family legend has it that Isaac was disinherited because he married an Indian. We do not know when he came to Wilson County, and we think second wife, Susan and her parents were also neighbors in NC. Isaac later moved to Nashville and worked at the shoemaking trade, and lived with son William (my grandfather) who was a boilermaker. We do not know when Isaac died, ort where he is buried. William lived in Nashville until he died in 1911. James lived briefly lived in Nashville and as a member of a tennessee infantry company in the Civil War, was killed in 1863 in Georgia. I have had contact with a Ray Chatham,III, who lives somewhere in Virginia, who Is the grgrandson of Benjamin, but doesn't seem to have much info about him, and seemed reluctant to five info he did know. I have now lost touch with him, because of change of email address. I do not know What happened to Mary or Nancy. I know that there are some Chathams inWilson County. I do not know if they are descendants of Isaac. If you are a descendant of Isaac, Or if you read this and know anyone who is, I would appreciate ou or them getting in touch with me I can be contacted at the above email address DCHATHAM@webtv.net. Surely there is someone out there with this Chatham connection, and I would like so very much to get i touch with them. Doyle Chatham
