Hello! Just curious. I am researching O'NEAL in Wilson County. Do you often find O'NEAL / NEAL / NEIL spelled various ways, with or without the "O"? I have noticed this and wondered if any other O'NEAL or NEAL researchers have. My gr-grandfather's (Joseph B Martin) obit in 1905 list him having a sister, Madeline Whitescarver and a brother "Captain" Jim Martin living in Lebannon, Wilson Co. TN. Joseph B. Martin was the child of James Martin and Mary Eason, His siblings were the children of James Martin and Harriet Hagerty. Joseph's son Berry Martin was also living in Lebannon at this time. Was there a city directory in Lebannon about 1900 to 1905? I have not been able to locate them on 1900 census yet. Betty Vaughn

This is in a tiny little place called Public Wells where I am from. But there was a group of people that went there together .All from VA and Wilson Co and most originated in Hanover VA area and were Quakers. Cannie BEADLE (born 29 Jul 1876 and died 9 May 1922) is buried at Fairview Cemetery in Wilson Co. TN. I am searching for descendants of Cannie ROBERTSON, the half-sister of my g-grandmother. This is an unusual first name and the birth year is within 1 year of census information. On 1900 census, Cannie ROBERTSON was living within two miles of the location of this cemetery with her parents [Charles L. ROBERTSON (1840 VA) & Lucinda SMITH (1844 TN)] and was in her early twenties so was of age to marry. Would anyone on the list know the maiden name of this lady? Henry Ford Cutrell's 1980 listing of those buried in Fairview Cemetery (on hill, east side of Cainsville Rd. about 1/4 mile south of Norene, Wilson Co TN USA) is at this web page: http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tn/wilson/cemeteries/fairview.txt for those who may need more information.
