    3. Lannom Cemetery is on Maddux Road, off Couchville Pike, in the Vesta area, south of Gladeville. I was there a few years ago and it was not under water. The backwaters of Percy Priest Lake were close but not over the cemetery. I believe there was something about the Lannom Cemetery when they were building the new speedway in the area. Dan Devault At 03:07 PM 6/14/02 -0600, you wrote: >Can anyone help me with directions to Lannom Cemetery in Wilson County? My g-granparents, Samuel Allen Patton and Elizabeth E. Martin are buried there. I'm told that it's at the intersection of Vesta and Gladeville Roads. I found and old note that says the cemetery is "On Simpson B. Lannom land, owned in 1972 by Elvin Maddux on Spring Creek, now Percy Priest Lake." I have my fingers crossed that it's not now underwater. Any help gratefully appreciated.

Statesville is my hometown, not waht it once was,,,,,,,, No Post office, No "DOWNTOWN AREA" (When I lived there, we had general store with everything in it, encluding post office and few other little places and it was buzzing on Saturday. You can go to google.com and put in Wilson County Archives and get address and telephone number...... I understand you can find out lots of theng there........ Yes many Cementeries,,,,,,,,,, Go to first page of US GEN WEB or the one for TN GEN WEB,,,,,,,,,, on one of these you will find the cementeries listed with names.......... Don't get discouraged if your ancester is not there,,,,,,,,, perhaps they only had stone that weather has taken it's toll on........ Most of the Cmenterise are there tho,,,,,,,,, At least the one folks still can get to.......... The Wilson county people did a wonderful job on this......... Do you know what district they lived in............ I can do it,,,,,,,,, but there are wonderful people on this list that would do a census look up for you,,,,,,, if you ask. 2. Hi I feel sure that some of those Lannoms were my ancestors. I also had some Garrett kin there. My grand mother was moved to Mt Juliet and I have not been able to find her grave. As I live so far away I have not been able to do as much looking as I would like to do. Do you happen to know anyone in Lebanon who would be willing to do some lookups for me? Of course I would pay for the service. I have hit a brick wall as someone has said and can not go any more unless I can get over there. I will be happy if I can get info about the Lannoms and any other possible info. Madge at nannie29@Juno.com

According to , the Book of Rutherford Co Cemeteries Vol. I which was surveyed by E. K. Johns in March 1971, it is on Spring Creek in the Gladeville Quadrangle. I suspect that anyone in Gladeville can direct you to it. Good luck. There were some graves moved from some other site which was flooded by the PP Dam. This books lists some names who were, I see Samuel A, Patton (with both dates) but Elizabeth E. Patton is listed on another page and without dates. Wilarlie Knight Barto
