-- I have Dowdy's I'm looking for. I don't know where they were before they went into NC, though. I have Nicholas Dowdy, born about 1825 who married Lillie Edwards. They were in Chatham NC in 1850 and then in 1870 they were in Carroll County, VA. The kids were Gaston, Armenia (Amelia), Lawrence, Aaron, and Richard. I think Nicholas had a brother named John, but in the Civil War he was fighting with the NC Troops until the both of them deserted on Feb. 5, 1865 near St. Petersburg, VA. In your search for Dowdy's, do any of these names sound familiar?????? ---Original Message----- From: Wjusthill <Wjusthill@aol.com> To: TNWILLIA-L@rootsweb.com <TNWILLIA-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Saturday, April 25, 1998 7:01 PM Subject: [TNWILLIA-L] Dowdy, Graham >Hello, everyone.
