I and a couple of Dowdy "cousins" have been told John Dowdy came from Chatham Co NC to Williamson Co TN, but so far we have been unable to find him in Chatham. However, in the course of looking, we learned a lot about the Chatham Co bunch. John left there (if he ever was there) before 1820 and I know nothing about the Dowdy's who remained in Chatham after that time period. They were probably all cousins somehow, some way. Do your Dowdy's have a connection to Williamson Co. TN?? Wayne Hill
