Good morning all, Worked an extra day in the fall so I have a day off today. Trying to grade exams and do genealogy at the same time. I ran across a will written, dated, and proved in Cumberland Co. Va. 1755. The descendants of the author of this will eventually wound up in Williamson Co. abt. 1810. William Thompson was appointed executor; and is signified by the author of the will as "my good friend". Now, somewhere down the road of 30 years of digging up the bones of my kinfolk, I seem to remember that this indicates a relationship between the two men that is other than just "friends", maybe a relative. Thompson married Eugenia Russell NC and the author does mention his "Russell" grandchildren, but I don't believe Thompson was a son-in-law in that none of the author's daughters mentioned in the will married a Thompson. I know with all of the great information that is posted on this list that someone out there knows this. Appreciate a response, Barbara
