    3. Hello Vance, I understand that some of the Beasley family may be buried at Sumner's Knob. What are some of the family names buried there?(Church, Fox, Wakefield...) My dad grew up with James McCanless. Thank-you for the tip on Mrs Lynch at the Archives. She found the 1816 murder indictment in just a minute. She is a treasure. You would probably like to read the document... old style 'legaleez'. I did not find the conviction however and I wonder if it was later or at another location(Nashville?). They branded the defendant with an 'M' in his hand. Why was he not hanged in those days? I also found where the whole family of the defendant moved (to McNairy co.)and each one sold their land to Seth Sparkman. Good to hear from you again, Joe
