There are Beasleys buried on Sumners Knob, even though I usually associate that name with the "other side" of the county: Ann T. BEASLEY, daughter of W. B. and M. B. Beasley, b. Jan. 25, 1845, d. June 8, 1846; Mary B. BEASLEY, wife of William B. Beasley, b. Oct. 26, 1823, died May 19, 1857; and Mary J., daughter of W. B. and M. B. BEASLEY, b. Sept. 28, 1846, d. Aug. 31, 1847. Other names on Sumners Knob are Alston, Clark, Copeland, Gorden (sic), Hill, Jarratt, Kirkpatrick, Martin, Palmore, Peay, Peebles, Russwurm, Sawyers, and Sumner. James McCanless is quite knowledgeable of old families in that area. His wife was a Little and is a cousin of mine. Vance
