Linda & Dwight: Thanks for your reply... I thought it may have been you on the original Email, but your e-mail address was different from the one I had on file, so I thought, well, maybe is a new lead...anyway....On my trip to Franklin recently, I found a whole bunch of stuff on Lewis Whitby's family as well as the link to John & Polly Scott. I copied a whole bunch of files from the "open records" file from the courthhouse records. Seems as though the Whitby family were somewhat of a "renegade" sort of folks...Lewis and his sons and brothers had been indicted at several times for a variety of things such as assault, gambling, etc. In the next few days, I'll copy these files and send them to you. Also John Scott lived next to Lewis' son, Green B. Whitby, as per a court document. Lewis also gave his new wife, Lucy Westbrook, a sorrell mare horse, which I have documentation. Apparently, Lewis moved to Arkansas a few years later than John and Polly, but he is listed as living next to the Scott family in a later census. 1880 I think. I'll check it out and also send you that. As far as I can tell, Lewis did not leave a will in Yell County. I am going to be tied up at work for the next week or so (lots of overtime), but I should be able to get all this together for you before the first of March. After I copy everything, I'll get in touch with you and bring it down to Jacksonville. I'd like to meet you in person, anyway. Again, thanks for your reply, and I'll keep in touch. Cousin Larry....
