    3. I have just recently been able to begin researching the individuals with the names Stephen Ramsay (found in Franklin township in 1820), and Eliajh Hamilton (who I am still searching for his whereabouts ) I am seeking more information about both of these men who came from North Carolina, and were amongst those early settlers of Williamson Co., TN. Both these were tied to my Great, Great, Greatgrandfather, William Warmack, who chose to live in Davidson Co., TN...and passed away in 1838, because they married two of his sisters. His sister, Mary Warmack (Warnock), who married Elijah Hamilton on 8/14/1786, in Guilford, NC, and Stephen Ramsay married Lucy Warmack (Wamuck) on 02 Jan 1799. I have heard that there is some information concerning some documentation on the Hamiltons that Mary's surname of Warnock was used within one of their children's names which may very well assist me with my search, although I wish it would have been Warmack, instead of Warnock accompanying the Hamilton surname. Each lady's surname was modified to Warnock and Wamuck, respectfully. The Guilford NC public marriage bond clerks spelled both ladies names the way they heard them, not the way they were spelled...for the reason I know none of these individuals could read or write and often times mistakes took place anyway...My Great, Great, Greatgrandfather signed his last will and testment with an "X" as his mark, so I have to assume the same about his sisters. Sorry about the lengthy explanation, but I needed to pave the way in this initial email for what it is that I am truly looking for. 1)Could some knowledgeable individual suggest where I should begin looking for these individuals? I know Stephen Ramsay can be found in 1820, living in Franklin ?township? Where would I go to find Elijah Hamilton, who I also found in 1820, who was the son of David Hamilton, who I also found in this 1820 census at the age of 60 yrs. 2)What townships existed very early in Williamson Co., TN? 3)And what were the existing counties at that time, that were directly around Williamson Co at the time of its conception?
