My comments weren't meant to be a reflection on either the transcriber or proofreader. I have had problems even on the FamilySearch site with the 1880 census. I have a Mangum/Mangrum family that I've had problems finding in census...it has been transcribed Manguem, etc; I even had a problem until I recognized both names. It's more a matter of the census taker's handwriting. Also there is other interesting and informative information to be gathered from using the census images. I have a friend who transcribed and published the 1900 Overton County census, with all proceeds of the sale going toward improving the library and historical society.
