D.)...died 28 Oct.1842...age 17y6m...daughter of John W. Hodge...married less than 2 years. (WWR) .....Hodge, John W.,...Accident on Saturday evening just before night. As our friend, John W. Hodge, who resides about 2 miles east of town, was on his way home, his horse took fright between the end of Main Street and the bridge and threw him severly, and as it was then supposed, fatally injuring him. He was taken up and carried to the residence of Dr. D.B. Cliffe, where he has since been receiving every attention, kindness can bestow. He is, we are all glad to learn, thought to be a little better, thiough his condition is still very critical. (WWR 9-21-1855)...Died at the residence of Dr. D. B. Cliffe, Thursday evening 20 Sept.1855, age about 60 years. (WWR 9-28-1855) .....Hodge, John W., son of James R., died Saturday of Thyphoid fever. Age 20 yrs. Buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
