On the 1848 item that has been questioned, the web page correctly transcribes Jonathan Smith's book. The 1846 death year may be a typo on Mr. Smith's part. The other problem may involve an age which was either misread by Mr. Smith in 2004 or set wrong by the typesetter in 1848. The only way to tell would be to look at the microfilm. Old newspapers on microfilm are often extremely difficult to read. There are mistakes in any abstracting work like this, so you do need to verify everything. If you find an entry that is wrong, the best thing to do would be to get a full copy of the obituary/death notice from the microfilm, transcribe the obituary/death notice in full, include a note that the JKTS book entry is in error, and post the fully transcribed obituary/death notice to the Williamson County genweb page (or whatever county is appropriate) and/or to the genweb archives. Libraries with the microfilm are the main Williamson County Library in Franklin, the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville, possibly the Memphis-Shelby County library, and the Jackson-Madison County Library.
