My DB goes back to a Joseph Skyles Cowan (b 1777) m. Jean (Jane) Graham (b 1784), daughter Rosanna (b 1808) who married a James Meacham (1810-1851), who is my 2nd great grand uncle. I have more on both families, and glad to share what I have. I also have a number of Winsteads, but in the Hawkins County, TN area mostly. Would be interested in finding a connection to them in Williamson County.. The Koen family, I am researching is also found spelled as Cowen and Cowan and very possibly as Gowen. Paul who is the first Cowan you have found in your family in the Williamson/ Davidson Co. area?? I think our families connect. The Koens had land on both sides of the Harpeth River. Does anyone know if or where it flows in Williamson County?? Do any list members know where Winstead family property was located in Williamson County?? Thank You!
