Ruth- I hope you meant to write that Granny White's father, William Wilson, was from Rowan Co., NC (not Cowan). There is a Rowan Co. and a Chowan Co., NC. Surry Co. was formed from Rowan and Stokes Co. was formed from Surry, so Rowan Co. would be the logical one. Thanks, Donna

I am sorry that was a typo - it is Chowan Co. His will is recorded there in 1771 according to Edyth Whitley. I have not gotten a copy of it. thanks for catching that.
