Is anybody else out there researching Sneeds & Owens in Williamson Co. in the late 1800s? I'm trying to transcribe the Sneed Cemetery on Old Smyrna Rd. in Brentwood, and I've run into a few that are causing problems. There are 4 stones in a row: Mary M. Owen 1841-1917 L. R. Owen 1839-1892 Mary Lou Owen 1879-1880 "daughter of L.R. & M.E. Owen" William N[?] Owen 1886[?]-1893[?] "son of L.R. & M.E. Owen" According to marriage records, L. Robert Owen & Mary M. [Sneed] Williams [widow] married in 1881. I do not know of any connection betweens the Owens and the Sneeds before this marriage (the cemetery is Mary's family). Mary Lou was born 2 years before this marriage, and the stone clearly indicates that her (and William's) parents were L. R. & M. *E*. Owen. Are the dates and/or parents' names on the stones wrong? Or is there some other explanation? Any help would be appreciated! Jenny Calvin
