I've been reading this WHITE thread with interest. My maternal grandfather, Chester McCracken, was a great-grandson of an Elizabeth White bn ca 1814 TN, died ca 1870 KY who had married in about 1833 a McCracken man bn TN, probably in TN. Her McCracken husband's given name is unknown as he had died shortly before the 1850 census was taken. Elizabeth had four children listed in the 1850 Caldwell County, KY Census, Amanda C., bn TN ca 1834, John L., bn MS ca 1839, Rachel bn TN ca 1843 and Gustavus bn TN ca 1848. I have *never* found a marriage record for an Elizabeth White to a McCracken man anywhere in TN and am now wondering if it might have taken place in Williamson County, TN where there were several McCracken families living in the 1830s. It is interesting to note that when Elizabeth was enumerated in the 1850 Caldwell County Census, she was a recently arrived resident living on Eddy Creek, just off the Cumberland River which passes through Davidson County. Can anyone tell me if Willamson County marriage records as extant and if so, do they include this marriage? Any help would be greatly appreciated. -- Pat Oliver (Willis P.
