You're right, the Burdett's did infact at many times, add an extra "e" at the end of their name. Lokks like some of them also were living in Davidson County. I was sure hopeing I could find some info of Burdett's buried there. Would be nice to add a grave photo. He was probably buried as "John" Burdett, since thats' what his death certificate says, instead of his real name Samuel Monroe Burdett. I will keep digging (opps... sorry) though and thanks again.
