For those of you nice people of this list, who had offered a "theory". I have finally solved my "John Burdett" of Williamson County mystery. According to his Confederate Pension Application, his nickname was "John". His actual name was Samuel Monroe Burdett, and he was my grand uncle. I have collected loads of info on "Samuel" for years, but suddenly finding a "John", where it should have been a "Samuel" really threw me. He died Oct. 28, 1929 and is buried in Leiper's Fork Cemetery. His death certificate even states "John." Now I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about that cemetery, is there an inventory, or when it is located in the county. I'm also interested in anyone who might have info on these Burdett's that lived around Leiper's Fork. His first wife was Sarah A. Hargrove. Their children were; John W., Levinia A., Benjamin B., James H., Roland E., Ellis L., Manerva, Snowada (not sure on this spelling) and Rosa H. I belive they also had a son Robert. His second wife was
