I have a divorce document dated April 15, 1899 between A. J. (Andrew Jackson) Buttrey and Lou Buttrey in Williamson County. In it A. J. accuses his wife, Lou of adultery. He states that the White Cap's Gang whiped said defendant and her paramour, Dr. J. H. Smith, causing them to leave the area. Could someone tell me who or what was the White Cap's Gang?
