you may obtain the 1870 census by going to either the USGENWEB,orTNGENWEB,or the genweb for anyother state by doing the same, you may want to start with the 1850 census, even though your relatives may not be on it...because you will ,upon comparison often find friends, relations and other family members, and the children . You should also try to find any of the many "County Histories", and Records such as Obits,Newspapers,Court records, Marriage,Birth, and Death. Good luck!!!! Remember to volunteer to transcribe documents if you can, we all need the help !!! C.L.McDowell
Does anyone have access to TN 1870 state census. Looking for Asa (1847) and Kate (1844) who married and lived in Williamson Co, but must have missed the 1870 Federal census. They should have had at least one son by then (John F). David, thanks for extracting from Western Weekly Review. The information is most helpful, and we are grateful. Do you plan to continue? Bill Timmons
Darlene, John Beard and Mary Blackstock are also my gggg-grandparents, directly through Benjamin Guinn and Catherine "Katey" BEARD. I'm not sure if you remember me, but we corresponded quite a few years back. Comfort GUINN, married Joseph S. MORTON. Joseph S. MORTON was Mary L. MORTONs younger brother. They are the children of Step MORTON and Nancy RICHMOND. As you know, Mary L. MORTON was married to Moses BEARD. If there is anything I can do to help you out, please let me know. My e-mail is now cdcgen@comcast.net. I have the following info which may help with your location of the Beard bible: Beard, Gary Wayne. "The Unspoken Past of the Beard Family". 1993. The family Bible record found at the National Archives in Washington, D.C., shows that John BEARD was born on 31 March 1765. Unfortunately we are unsure as to who his parents were or his place of birth. There is some thought that he may have been of Irish descent. The family Bible record is located on pages 6 and 7.
