Ok, I'll look for her publications in the Williamson Co. Archives.
I was on the Williamson Co. Bio Surname site and noted two people that caught my attention one is Edyte Rucker Whitley on Kith and Kin of OUr President Lyndon Baines Johnson::: This is off My Col Arthur Allen Lines which cross to RObert Johnson and Katherine Allen, my lines come off a Williamson married to Katherines aunt the daughter of Col. Arthur Allen and Alice Tucker of Bacons Castle, Surry Co. Va I was wondering if this lady is still involved with Family Histories of Williamson Co. Tn. THen I came accross this bio on Lewis Johnson and related families Edwards, Morton and Lawrence compiled by Marie Little Ehresman 1991::: I was also wondering if she is still involved with the Williamson Co. WEb site on line. Reason my HUdson Johnson DNA tests cross all of these SURNAMEs she menitons, as they are connected to off spring of Michael Johnson and Sarah Watson. Michael died 1718 on Tuckahoe Creek in henrioc Co. Va. Note a Lewis Johnson lived in Henry CO that became Patrick Co. same area my Hudson Johnson left in 1783.Also one of his Grandsons is named Lewis, and my Hudson Johnson was in what was Williamson CO. from 1801-1803. Thanks Tony L. Johnson Ant help locating or contacting these researchers is apprecited
Allen Johnson came from Meckelmburg County, Virginia . His dates are 1765-1835. His wife was Mary Hutcheson, 1768-1836. she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Chiles Hutcheson. They first came into Rutherford co, TN and then Williamson Co. Allen and Mary or as she was called Polly's daughter, Elizabeth Chiles, married Thomas Durham. Thomas and Elizabeth lived and died in Dekalb Co, TN. I am part of the Durham line. There is a picture of Allen Johnson's home in Historic Williamson County by Virginia Bowman. I have some information on Mary's family, but am looking for Allen's family. THer way I understand it she was a professional geneologist in the area and all of her research was sold to a lady in Williamson Co who donated it to the library. What kind of Books did Ms. Whitley leave behind ?
Edythe Rucker WHITLEY has long since passed but she left a large legacy behind. The Williamson County Library has a huge collection of her works and her books are also readily available. Colleen

The land is now a very nice neighborhood called the "Inns of Granny White". Granny Whites's grave and her daughter Keziah's graves are finced inn in a small island in the enterance road. There is also a historical marker at Granny WHite's grave. I will send you a picture of it. There are several graves up in the tall weeds near where the inn stood. I have talked to some of the neighbors there and they were very nice. Cousin Ruth DCMowery@aol.com wrote: Ruth- In addition to the personal email I sent you, the timeframe sounds right. If they weren't, there should be some valuable information "at rest" there. However, I'm not so sure it would be safe to go there unless someone else more reasonable owns the land now. I will email stuff this weekend. The graves I was referring to are of Granny White's grandson Willis WHite and his family. They are up the hill to the left of Where Granny WHite's Ill was located. Last time I was there they were hidden in the tall grass. Also there were graves to the right up the hill from Granny WHites grave. I did not see these but they are listed on a hand drawn map done by Edyith Whitley in 1931. I will send you a copy of this map - The original is at Williamson Co library. Donna, did you get that info on the 1850 Williamson Co.,District 15 Census? Chuck
Hi Ruth ! I sure would like that info back to 1600;Isle of Wyeth...and all I can tell you is that they were probably right there back to about the 4th Century when things started settling down in that part of the world. About the year 460ad, the Celtic and Britanic Tribes formed alliances and forged relationships with their closest friends to maintain an Area for them to live in with a better sense of security...in other words everybody stopped "Warring" with each other as much and found a self-reliant way of life. Donna, the A______ who owns the land doesn't matter, State law states that if you are a direct Decendant of someone Buried in on a plot of land in Tennessee, you have the right of have a reasonable, and right of Access to the Cemetery...and it furhter states that the land owner has to protect the Graves with a fence at least 10 ft away from, and all the way aruond the cemetary , and allow for any further Burials that have been shown to be available for other family members,etc.,etc...and so on, and so on....the area is fenced and I'm not sure that access is all that available to family but I'll check that! There are only two known graves there, and there worn away badly, but Granny's Grave is decernable and vividly there. Chuck
Ruth- In addition to the personal email I sent you, the timeframe sounds right. I'm always willing to share information. Sure envy ya'll being able to go to the library there. Donna, the McWhite is probably a typo or transcription error I think, that deserves a bit of scrutiny as well I suppose. Chuck
