    2. Jerry, part of Maury County became part of Williamson county, thats why there may be some slight confusion, also there were no organized Marriage records prior to 1912,as then it became a law of the land to produce and retain those records. Some Archives have gleened the marriage info from Church,.Bible,Census records, and Obituaries,etc...hence it is quite possible that you can find what you are looking for by going to usgenweb or go to this site if looking in Tn. Tngenweb and scroll down to Marriage Records, and take a look. Enjoy!!!

    3. Donna Granny WHite's name was Lucinda Wilson White. According to Edyith Whitley she was the daughter of William Wilson, who was from Cowan Co NC. In her will she calls herself Lucy. If you have anything to contradict this info let me know in case I am going down the wrong trail. I would love to hear of any info you get in Surry or Stokes co. that is something I have wanted to check out for a long time but never have. I will get the other info to your soon. Sorry for the delay. Ruth DCMowery@aol.com wrote: Sarah-- Thanks so much for posting the article on Granny White (Mary Polly Burnham). I live in Forsyth Co., NC. Stokes and Surry Co. are close by and that definitely gives me some direction on where to look for our line of the White family. 1. White of Williamson Co.
    2. If you are researching White's in Williamson Co., TN you might want to look in Hardin Co., TN. There were a lot of Whites in Hardin Co. by 1820. I find some of the same surnames in Hardin Co. that were in Williamson Co. Whites are not part of my line but one of those with an unusual name that I remember was Meady White. Just thought this may be a clue to where some of your White family went. Ed ----------------------------- See home page at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~adams1895

    3. Do you happen to have a Jordan Johnson in your database? He was born in TN, said his parents were born in NC. He was 58 on the 1880 census of Lavaca County, TX. He is on earlier censuses of Pike Co. and Marion Co., MS. He married Priscilla Yawn in MS. His parents are supposed to be John J. Johnson and Mary Pearson. I cannot find information on Jordan Johnson after 1880. 3. Collen:: one of the things our group is doing is documenting where the Tuckahoe Creek Families went and who the married. Do you accept attachments as some where in my files we have documented known families on Tuckahoe Creek. We would appreciate the information you could provide on any of these families. As Thomas Harding and Mary Giles weere one of the first families on this Creek with our know DNA connections of Micahel Johnson and John Johnson in 1687 owning land on N.James River by Edawrd Hatcher of Varina Parish::: We know this land Edward owned was on Tuckahoe Creek.ALso of Note is Mary Giles family was from Varina Parish ( Just noticed this) Thanks Tony >From: Researchingmykin@aol.com >Reply-To: TNWILLIA-L@rootsweb.com >To: TNWILLIA-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [TNWILLIA] Tuckahoe Creek in Virginia >Date: Thu, 26 Aug 2004 08:10:45 EDT > >My husband is a descendant of Thomas HARDING - just looking for tidbits of >info from other family's. >I have TONS of info on the HARDING's and collateral families. > >Colleen Taylor >Lebanon, TN > > >==== TNWILLIA Mailing List ==== >PLEASE NOTE: This list is for queries and replies, comments, requests >for help, and other genealogical related information that is of interest >to researchers of Williamson County, Tennessee. 3. Ed we have one known connection in our Research Terisha ( Terry) Johnson- Johnston 2nd wife was Susanna Turner grand daughter of Terisha Turner "The Ancient" Terisha Johnston made his application for Rev. War Benefits from Henderson Co. Tn we have documented 3 of his knkown childre from 3 wifes. one is Steven Johnson possible born in Henderson Co::: Len Henley Johnson off spring of Susannah Turner, and one Daughter married to a Douglass. SHe is a widow living there in Henerson Co. Tn. in 1830. Terisha Johnston is from Mecklenburg Co. Va. on (1790) Nutbush Creek Warren Co. to Red River Montgomery Co.(1812) then down to Henderson Co. Tn:: Len Henley Johnson owned a large plantation in Montgomery Co. his son married his cousin ( Turner) in Humphreys Co. Tn. I am going from memory her, but this is posted on Rootsweb and Ancestory.com Newest find is a John JOhnson in 1760 Lunenburg Co. owning land on Nutbush Creek in Virginia::: Notes on Nut bush creek is it runs into both state from Va. A Dam was built and it is now a resivior. on the Va NC Line, also of note is the NC Va lines were redrwan at some time in history, I need to recheck this. as NUt bush creek only runs about 2 miles into NC.
