Hi, I am searching for information about John Baptiste BOUVET m. to a Mary WEISHAUPT on January 10, 1857 in Knox County. John was born in France and his wife was born in Switzerland. In 1860 they were recorded on the Williamson County census, and had one son, Henry age 2. By 1870 they are living in Davidson County, and had four more children: William 7, Mary 4, John 2 and Louisa. In 1880 he is remarried and living in Texas. I would like to know where his first wife was buried if she died (her last child was born in March 1873), and if his son Henry remained in Tennessee since he didn't go to Texas with his father and siblings. Any info would be appreciated because the family died out after it moved to Texas. Thanks, Sarah Fezio jcross@metronet.com

hi, i am a MOSS......so i am looking for more about my gr gr grandfather DAVID THOMAS MOSS b. ca 1805 williamson county that married MARY WHITE GIDDENS..... are there any kin out there.....
I have noticed that in the early 1800's many people in Williamson used Green as a given or middle name. Many of these seem to have come fron northeastern North carolina. Were these people named after Green Hill, a prominent minister? Was there a specific migration from NC to Williamson? Phil Ellsworth
Still trying to find parents of Stephen Green Eubank, in Williamson before 1830, m. in Maury, then to Springfield, Ill. beforw 1840. I don't know about the given name of "Green". However, I have noticed it in families of South Carolina and Mississippi. In 1776 Tennessee was known as Washington County, North Carolina. You can read a brief account of its history in Everton's Handybook. Claudette Ittner
Hi Phil, In a message dated 98-03-03 20:05:30 EST, you write: << Was there a specific migration from NC to Williamson? >> The HILL family might actually have been in the same "spot" when they lived in NC and then Davidson Co and then Williamson Co........ "The first of the 5 HILL men to Davidson County was GREEN HILL on March 7, 1786, when he received 6 land grants from the state of North Carolina, totaling 3911 acres. Of these grants GREEN received, 2 were for the land that GREEN HILL lived on and became in Williamson County in 1800. One grant was for 640 acres on Little Harpethand one grant for 77 acres on Mill Creek, totaling 717 acres. This is the 717 acre tract that GREEN HILL paid taxes on in Williamson County from 1800-1803, 1808-1813 and was described as on Mill Creek and Little Harpeth." Source: "Early Hill Men in Williamson County, Tennessee Between 1786-1830" by Mrs. Virginia Gooch Watson and published in the Williamson County Historical Society, publication No. 17, Spring 1986. I am descended from a HILL line in Williamson County, but have not attempted research yet. But, thought the above information might help in determining if actually this HILL line migrated from NC or actually was in the lived in the same area as it the state and county boundaries began changing in the latter part of the 1700s and early 1800s. Anyone else have any idea on this? Later, Darlene Anderson

Looking for any descendents of John Cochron. He died in Williamson Co., Tn about 1825. His first wife was Nelly or Elenor Maness. His second wife was named Susanna. Any help appreciated. Lucille susyq@fidnet.com
My gr-gr-gr-grandfather was NATHANIEL GUTHRIE. He moved to Williamson Co., about 1818 from Halifax Co., Va. He had a son WILLIAM CARROLL GUTHRIE, born in Tennessee about 1819. He had an older son JOHN B. GUTHRIE born in 1801 in VA. The family was only in Tennessee for a short time; however, as Nathaniel shows up in Lauderdale Co., Alabama in 1820. Nathaniel married in 1798 in VA, FANNY LINK whose father was JOHN LINK. Nathaniel probably had a brother named CHARLES GUTHRIE who moved to Missouri about the same time Nathaniel moved to Tennessee. The father's name may have been GARNER Guthrie, although that could have been a middle name. Any help would be appreciated. You may email me directly at lguthrie@brightok.net

sorry, I have very limited info on the Stevens side of the family. Do you know where they lived and the time frames??? thanks.
Darlene- You asked for feedback as to what people would like to see on the web site. Here are a few ideas, some more thought out than others. 1. a not too brief history of the area. 2. info on prominent families 3. a map of the county -- I believe I have seen links to Tiger Maps on other sites 4. Research resources, email addresses, etc. 5. local newspaper info -- a link to a web site of the paper, if there is one. 6. transcriptions of data collected from local sources, i.e. births, marriages, deaths, etc. Good luck and thanks for your efforts. As a fairly new researcher, I am amazed and appreciative of the good work that so many people have done in the genealogy area. Sincerely, Jim Daniel
