Looking for the lead that connects my GGGF John Wesley Taylor to his unknown father. JW lived on the South Harpeth. He sold land to his brother-in-law, Wm Givens, in 1842 but we cannot find where he, his father(unknown), nor his GF(also unknown) ever bought or was granted the land. Am also related to the Smith's of Smith's Springs(Fernvale.) Samuel, jr was my GGGGF. Anything to add on this family? Thanks. Jerry Taylor - Nashville
Bettye, In a message dated 98-04-23 19:55:46 EDT, you write: << Please post your private msgs to the individual >> I am sorry that you have taken offense to the fact that someone congratulated me on my new granddaughter and was sorry that I am no longer county coordinator, BUT I am the Williamson County Listowner....rules are in place which have been observed by everyone on the list thus far. This is certainly not the first message that has come through the list of a "personal nature"....if you will, and unless it gets to the point of continous chit chat between individuals I do not see a problem. AND, you can be certain that if I do see a problem of any kind.....I will notify the person or persons involved. We are here to help each other and further our lines of research in Williamson County after all. If that means having a little of the "personal nature" in the emails coming through the list so that we can become familiar with each other I do not see that as a problem. If you come to a dead end in Rutherford County, check out Gibson County. Also to T. I am looking for information about the NATHANIEL GUTHRIE family. He would have been in Williamson Co., about 1818. At that time he had at least two sons JOHN B. and WILLIAM CARROLL. In 1820 he was involved in a lawsuit in Williamson Co., that stated he was now of Lauderdale Co., AL. Nathaniel's father may have be GARNER or GARRITT of Virginia. Nathaniel may have had a brother CHARLES who moved to Missouri. By the way to Darell Widick, a DAVID GURLEY was the administer of Nathaniel Guthrie's estate in 1832 in Franklin Co. Alabama. I believe some Gurley's still lived in that county. Larry lguthrie@brightok.net

Congratulations on being a grandma. It's lots of fun. Sorry to hear you're no longer the Coordinator but realize where your priorities lie when family comes first. I believe that we are related since the Sullivans, Tidwells, etc. are related to the Andersons. In fact, if you need I have several Anderson members on my list and will be happy to provide when you are ready. Good luck.
Anyone interested in any of these lines ? Barbara

I am researching the Pearce family who lived in Williamson and Rutherford Counties early 1800's before moving to Johnson County Illinois. The father, McKinney Pearce was a school teacher and was from NC. He lived and died in Williamson County. His son, Arthur Davis Pearce was in the War of 1812 and moved on to Illinois after the War. Any help would be greatly appreciated concerning this family. Also I know there was a book written about them by Nell Pearce Elkins, but have not been able to locate such a book. I don't know the name of the book. If you are related...please contact me Nukando@aol.com Karen Newenham Pigeon Forge Tn
