One of the William Hamptons in the 1830 Census of Williamson County was from Brunswick County, VA, the son of Henry Hampton, married to Martha (Patsy) Potts. His children were Willis, James T., and Andrew S. He was a brother to my ancestor David Hampton, also of Brunswick County, VA. They had another brother Jeremiah who also came to Williamson County, as well as a sister Elizabeth who married Bishop Oldham. I have a ton of information on this family, but I don't believe they are the ones you are looking for. T. Vance Little
Searching for any trace of the family of William P (Uncle Billy ) HAMPTON born Aug 8 1789 in North Carolina. William married Malinda (maiden name unknown ) born in Virginia about 1792. William and Malinda had seven children but I only have data on two of them, John H HAMPTON born 1818 in Tennessee and James P HAMPTON born 1827 in Tennessee. There are two William Hampton's listed on the 1830 census for Williamson County and I would like to find out if anyone knows if either one is my William HAMPTON. William had one other son William Irwin, and four daughters, Mary, Mathilda, Lemura, and Elizabeth. I do not have any birth dates for these children. I would like to find out where in Tennessee William and his family lived and where his sons were born. I know that in 1833 William and his family moved to what is now Dade County Missouri and were some of the first settlers in the area. Will share all information I have on the Hamptons. Thanks for your time Jaime JLee196@aol.com

Joe: I work with a BEARD in Tyler, TX. Do you have any relations in Texas? If so, if you will send me your email address, I'll send his name to you so you can get together on the Beard Line. Seems like he mentioned a MOSES BEARD as an ancester a while back. Larry Scott LScott2329@aol.com
Hi, Just in reference to the Short family... In my Housden research, I came upon a Samuel Short in Rockingham County, Virginia that married a Elizabeth Housden. We have no idea who this Elizabeth is. I just found out third hand that a Short researcher in VA had hit a brick wall with him, he seemed to have disappeared into thin air. I wondered why Benjamin Housden migrated to Williamson County. Lucky for the Short researcher... I found him in the 1820 Williamson CO census! He lived only two farms down from my Benjamin. Thought I'd pass on this information, since it may (?) relate to your Shortts. Sorry if this is irrevelent to your line, but I have found that I have climbed alot of brick walls with just tidbits of information, and I would rather have irrevelent information than none at all. Hi All, Researching the name HOUSDEN/CROCKER who lived in Williamson County from about the 18teens to the 1840's. Benjamin HOUSDEN migrated from VA in the 18teens. He married Elizabeth TURNER. His daughters married in Williamson and stayed:1. Polly HOUSDEN married Samuel CHAMBERLIN 1841. 2. Sarah HOUSDEN married James GUY 1841 3. Rebecca Jane HOUSDEN married William BROWN. Thanks, Deanna Housden-Campen
What an uproar about NOTHING! I agree with Barbara. I am on several mailing lists and the exchange of hate messages is appalling. Emails are the same things as spoken words - except they appear on a screen for hundreds to see. My family taught me to think before I opened my mouth. We all THINK a lot of things but pressing the send button before checking for hurtful remarks is, in my option, inexcusable. >The insulting remarks concerning congratulations on a grandchild are awful. How do think the family lines continue, with the birth of a child. It is truly a blessing from God and we should all be thankful. We should be thankful too for the good work done by this gracious lady.

Hello again, everyone! I am searching for information about William H. CULLUM (b. 12 Sept. 1799 in Halifax Co. NC) I think, but am not sure, that his father was also named William CULLUM. I believe that William Cullum Sr. remained in NC, and is buried there. The younger William CULLUM moved to either Rutherford or Williamson County, Tenn., in the early 1800's. He married Hixil Simmons (b. 12 Oct. 1802 in Rutherford Co.) on about 8 Oct. 1817, in Williamson Co. William and Hixey had about 12 or more children of whom my gg grandfather John G. Cullum (b. 12 April, 1835 in Williamson Co) was one. Williamson Hux Cullum moved to Pope Co. Ill., in 1842, where he purchased land in 1849 and died in 1858. Hixil died in 1862. John G. Cullum married Sarah Ann Vaughn in 1856. She was the daughter of Jackson Vaughn (born 1815, possibly in Tennessee) and Nancy Edwards Vaughn. Jackson Vaughn was probablly the son of George Vaughn of NC. Nancy Edwards Vaughn was probably the daughter of Spencer Edwards. Does anyone have information on these lines? I will be happy to exchange any information that I receive. Thanks in advance. Larry G. CULLUM - son of Thurman Jackson (Jack), son of Julius O., son of William J., son of John G., son of William H. CULLUM, son of William CULLUM, son of Thomas CULLUM??? also searching: CARMAN, BALDWIN, CARTER, BEABOUT(BEBOUT), VAUGHN, SIMMONS, BELFORD, JOINER (JOYNER) Larry G. Noticed a number of queries for the name of JORDAN. I research Jordan PHIPPS who was born ca 1766 in Virginia, died ca 1827 in Williamson County. According to my sparse information, he was the son of Benjamin PHIPPS and Martha RICHARDSON. Have wondered if a grandmother could have been a JORDAN. Does anyone have further info on Jordan. He married Penelope McCULLOCK. After he died she married Newton EDNEY. Edna C ednaray@tstar.net
